New RNAO Smoking Cessation Coordinator

Hi all! My name is Jennifer Tiberio and I am a new Smoking Cessation Coordinator with the RNAO. My nursing career has predominately been in primary care working for 6.5 years with Family Health Teams first as an RN and then as an NP. Smoking cessation counselling has been a large focus of my nursing practice throughout the years. I am TEACH trained and have utilized the RNAO's Smoking Cessation BPG in practice. I helped to create and run our FHT's Smoking Cessation Program.

New Smoking Cessation workshop in Toronto, Ontario (February 26, 2014)

RNAO is excited to be offering a free Smoking Cessation Champions Workshop in downtown Toronto on February 26, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Toronto at 370 King St West. To register on-line go to Participants will learn counseling techniques, intervention strategies and receive tools and resources in smoking cessation. This workshop will also highlight working with special populations including pregnant and postpartum women. Nurses, nursing students and other health care professionals are welcome to attend.

Request for Proposal: RNAO Smoking Cessation Implementation Sites 2013-2014


Heath care organizations across the province are invited to apply to become Smoking Cessation Implementation Sites. Implementation Sites are committed to implementing the RNAO Smoking Cessation Guideline into their organizational health care delivery programs and to integrate tobacco cessation best practice interventions into the daily practice of nurses and other health professionals.
