Poster Presentation: RNAO-Brock University collaboration (8th Annual Ottawa Model Conference)

RNAO held a poster presentation at this year's 8th Annual Ottawa Model Conference in Ottawa, Ontario (January 21 - 22, 2016). This poster showcased Brock University's utilization of RNAO's Best Practice Guideline "Integrating Smoking Cessation into Daily Nursing Practice" together with the Nursing Faculty Education Guide (NFEG). These resources were used to incorporate smoking cessation into nursing curriculum; enhance students' abilities in approaching the topic of smoking cessation with clients; and provide smoking cessation continued education to clinical instructors.

Last week during National Non-Smoking Week, RNAO's Tobacco & Nicotine Intervention Coordinator attended the 8th Annual Ottawa Conference: State of the Art Clinical Approaches to Smoking Cessation. This conference brings together experts in the field of mental health, addictions and smoking cessation to discuss the latest research and findings in smoking cessation. RNAO was privileged to host a table to highlight relevant resources for healthcare professionals to assist their clients in going smoke-free. http://ottawamodel.ottawaheart.ca/
